BFFs

Right this minute A is on his way home - he left Townsville at 5pm last night.  Drove through to Rockhampton to sleep.  Left there at 5am this morning (never mind the 10 hr break between shifts) and is driving home as I type this !  I am so excited !!!!

This man is my best friend. He is the reason I have accomplished so much because he supports me and encourages me and stands by me through thick and thin.

He is the one who changed the poo nappies and cleaned up the vomit because he knew if he didn't, he would have to clean up my vomit as well.

He is the one who played Leggo for hours on end while I read my book because I am not that good with children - not even my own.

He is the one who has held my hair out my eyes when I have been sick, cooked when I couldn't be a*sed, held me and comforted me when I felt like it was all just too much.

He is the one who pushes me to achieve when I feel like I am not good enough because he knows that I am.

He is the one who challenges me when I get pissy about things and brings me back to reality when I go off with the fairies for too long.

He is my rock, my reason for living, my everything and I miss him so much when he is not home.

Linking in with Kate from katesaysstuff for Thankful Thursday - THANK YOU A for always being there for me and for being the best friend that I could ever have.  You bring out the best of me while knowing what the worst of me is like and, with you, I can be so much more than I ever thought possible.

TFTD : Don't take for granted things closest to your heart.  Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Linking in with Josefa at Always Josefa for Conversations over Coffee because I haven't had time to post a new entry !!

    1. Thanks Carmen - yes, he definitely is a keeper. Sooooo looking forward to him being home again and hope that he is home for a decent period of time before they send him off somewhere else. If only Optus and Telstra would get their act together and release their sites in Brisbane/Gold Coast - then he could stay at home !!
Have the best day ever !

  4. Oh hooray!!! I know that excitement... Even though the Supertrucker is home between shifts it is always with the next trip looming. After he gets back this Sunday he has a full fortnight off for our move and I will not know myself with him around to help out!!

I love that photo by the way, gorgeous gorgeous <3

    1. It normally takes us a couple of days to get used to having him around. K cut the grass yesterday so that is one thing that will surprise him - she has never cut it before when he has been away. Always good when they are at home to help - especially if you are moving !!!!

Thanks for the comment re the photo - it is one of my favourites of the two of us.

      Have a fantastic day !

    1. Thanks for stopping by. It is great when we have such good people in our lives and I really feel for people who don't have someone who believes in them totally - and supports them 100%. I don't know how I would manage without him in my life !

    1. Thanks for popping by. I couldn't imagine not being married to my best friend. The great thing is that I am his best friend too - he would rather sit at home and have a drink with me than go to the pub with work mates !!! I love that !

    1. Thanks Ash - chances are he won't read them - this is one of my 'weird' things that I do - blog !!! LOL - he knows I blog but he would have no idea where my blog was or even how to find it ! I do try to make sure he knows by telling him how much I love him daily - and always at the end of a phone call !!!

      Have a great day !

    1. Me too !!! It feels like I have lost an arm or a leg when he is not around but is has been good in one way because K and I have spent more time together doing things that we wouldn't normally do if he was home.

What a pity the weather has been so awful today - maybe tomorrow it will be better.

Hope you and Lucy enjoyed your walk this morning.

  16. just lovely! i cannot tell you how happy i am when someone says their spouse is their best friend.
you two are wonderful partners going through life!
so many people will never know that kind of devotion to another.

the only time i ever use the term 'best friend' is to reference my husband.... i have been blessed with beautiful friends in this life but he's my true one and only best friend.... and i am his.

so glad your husband is home and you can all reconnect and get back to the good life stuff!

    1. Thanks Tracie - it makes me sad to think that so many people are in marriages that aren't based on friendship, trust and devotion. Even though we have had our ups and downs, we have never lost sight of the fact that we are best friends - who may sometimes get angry with each other but can always resolve the issues !
      Have a great day !
