Things I Know

This linky is more than a little late but given the long weekend and the fact that I was sleeping 14-16 hrs per day over said long weekend, there wasn't really much time to do anything else !

Linking in with Miss Cinders at Saturday Morning Ogre Mum for Things I Know because (as she is always so good to point out, and remind us, We all know sh*t.)

- I know that I am soooooooooo happy with the Suns' win over St Kilda - what a great game it was to watch, even the second time when we got home, and the third time the next morning when K came over and the fourth time on the replay on Sunday afternoon.

- I know that I am soooooooooo tired of being tired - hopefully the glucose tolerance test and the cortisol tests tomorrow will show something isn't right and we can work towards getting it sorted out so I don't feel like this all the time.

- I know that I can sleep waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than I ever thought possible.

- I know that cutting down on my exercise regime is the right thing for me to do right now - I will get back into it when we have some answers and can fix things.

- I know that I love having the old K back visiting us.  We saw a fair bit of her over the weekend and it was just lovely - she was an absolute pleasure to have around - long may it last.

- I know that I am happy that our vanity has been installed into the spare basin and we can work on getting the veranda cleared / tidied now that the vanity isn't there anymore.

- I know that I am missing my folks so much and can't wait for them to get home.  It's so good to hear that they are enjoying themselves and having a bit of a break while they are there but it will be even nicer to have them home again.

- I know that I have been feeling so much better recently (except for the tiredness) - the mood swings and irritability have been so much better, I haven't had an anxiety attack for a while now and the night sweats and itches have both been bearable of late.  Now if we could just get my weight and my skin under control - life would be grand !

- I know that I like hot x buns more than I like easter eggs (Note - more than easter eggs NOT chocolate).

- I know that my enthusiasim for crocheting seems to come and go for no apparent reason - I hope it comes and stays for a while before winter begins so I can make more blankets for the poor children who don't have any.

- I know that the few tasks I set for myself for the long weekend didn't get done.

- I know that I have been kind to myself and not beaten myself up for not doing above mentioned tasks - they are still on the list and will get done when I can get them done.

- I know that I have not been blog reading / commenting / answering comments on my own blog as regularly as I would like - see "I know" immediately above.

- I know that it is Tuesday which means it is #IBOT with Essentially Jess today.

Have a great short week and take care !

  2. Sounds like you're still on a bit of a roller coaster. Has K moved out, or is she living at your folks while they're away? I'm glad you are being kinder to yourself and I have EVERYTHING crossed for some results from these tests. I've been sick myself lately - terrible cough and just feeling plain "blah" so have not been very active either. xox

    1. It's no good that you have been sick - so hard to be active when you don't feel 100%.
K is still staying at my folks place while they are away - they get back next Friday so will see what happens after that.
Take care and look after yourself !

  3. I feel the same as you, tired and all. I set myself tasks this weekend that just never happened, mainly washing the cars and washing the windows. Today is another day so we will see. I can't wait to get my knitting out again and would love to be able to crochet. Done lots of blogging/reading though. Sending you wishes to feel better soon. xxx

    1. Thanks Rae - I love crocheting - it is so much quicker than knitting but I can't watch TV while I crochet like I can with knitting :(
Maybe if I can find a laptop that works I can take it with me tomorrow and catch up on blog reading / commenting while I wait for the tests which are going to take 3-4 hrs.
Have a great day and rest up when you can.

  5. So pleased to hear that you've been kind to yourself and tapered things back at the moment where necessary. Also pleased to hear that the mood swings and anxiety has curbed somewhat, that most be a relief. Wishing and praying for you that you get answers on your other woes.

You're such a sweet soul making all those gorgeous blankets for little ones. Bless you. X

P.S - how doesn't like a good hot cross bun?

    1. Which sounds really weird.. but I mean, it is ok to have things on a list, it may get longer but, when you can manage you can prioritise those things and get back on track.

    2. Thanks Sophie - you are right - if it was empty it wouldn't be a list !! They will all still be there when I get back into the swing of things.

  13. I also love buns instead of choc! And wow that is a lot of sleep, I have about 5 hours a night, with no more than 4 in a row. I really hope you get some answers because it sucks being tired for no reason. I also think it's so lovely you still have your parents around to miss ( I do too but so many don't)
As for not getting around everyone's blogs, we are here, we're not going anywhere and I LOVE when you're back! Em xx

  15. So glad that you are feeling better - I hope they do have an answer to your tiredness soon too. BTW I have been indulging in a few too many hot cross buns too - definitely better than the dodgy chocolate in the eggs I bought for Easter (yes, I bought cheapo ones and I've learned my lesson for next year!) Stay safe and I hope you feel even better soon!

    1. Thanks Kirsty. We learned early on it is better to get fewer decent eggs than a whole bunch of dodgy cheap ones that never get eaten. When you find easter eggs in the back of the fridge at easter the next year - you know that nobody liked them !!!

I know - it's okay that you haven't been running. Because that means you're resting and looking after you.
I know - the 'old people' ;) will be missing you as much as you are missing them.

Fingers crossed your tests give you some kind of answer. I hate being sick for what seems like forever and not knowing why. It's the worst :(

Thanks for linking up sweets xxx
