Today I am linking in with Miss Cinders from Saturday Morning Ogre and Grace from With Some Grace with Things I Know - in no particular order (because I have been listening to the Oscar nominations !!) :
- I know that I have over 300 blog posts in Google Reader that I have not read - I may need to "Tick All As Read" and start over again.
- I know that sometimes I feel overwhelmed because I can't get to read all the blogs I follow - I can't even keep up with the linkies that I join in !! (I am still only up to #45 from #IBOT with Essentially Jess.)
- I know that even though I am not eating sugar, dairy, wheat or soft drinks, I can put on weight by eating too many nuts and having my portion sizes too big.
- I know that I can't live on tuna and rice salad just because it is so hot and I can't be bothered to eat anything else.
- I know that I am learning so much about my body and what it can (or can't) do.
- I know that I have the best, most encouraging, most supportive PT that I could wish for.
- I know that I am working on being kinder to myself. Last night I was saying that I was unfit - the truth is not that I am unfit, it is that I am not as fit as I used to be. I was pleased when I made that distinction in my head because it means that I am slowly changing the negative self talk that has dogged me for so many years.
- I know that I love feeling DOMS on the days after pushing myself at training.
- I know that I need to be open to changing my exercise plans if I start them and find that they aren't working like I thought they would (I thought I had this one in the bag - clearly I was mistaken !!).
- I know that A is working this weekend and I will have Sunday to myself - and I am looking forward to some lovely, quiet 'me' time !!

I know exactly what you mean about keeping up with reading blogs, I really love doing it but sometimes it is hard to get round them all no matter how much you enjoy them. Your commitment to health and exercise is brilliant, I think that it is really good to be so intune with your body, you know what works for you, that means that when you falll off the wagon you know what you need to do to get back on the right track, There are really not a lot of people that can do that it is great that you are able to take control.

It's hard isn't it - when they aren't there you miss them and sometimes there is too much peace and quiet but when they are there you wish you had just a little bit of peace and quiet !!!

ReplyDeleteAs important it is to keep healthy and fit, I think it is really important to give your body a rest when it needs it.
I know what you mean about nuts. I over do it with them to and wonder why I feel so bloated!
I think tonight might be a rest night for me as we have a family get together to farewell MIL and niece.
DeleteI know that I often eat at work because I am bored - not because there isn't enough work but because the work isn't that interesting and I think "Oh, I'll brighten my day by having some nuts !!!!"

I really hope you enjoy your 'me' time - there are few chances when we can just do what we want.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you in regards to portion size, in saying that I'm truly on rations at the moment, and it's bloody hard, but once I lose my baby (okay 3 babies) weight, I'll be able to reintroduce it all again.
BTW, I love that I'm the only person who can use my ability :)

Yay for cutting yourself a little bit of slack about the fitness. Life is all about perspective and sometimes that can be the toughest thing to change but it sounds like you are making ground there. Fairy wishes and butterfly kisses lovely. Enjoy your Me time

Yes, also with me, very frustrating not to be able to read all the blogs I like. When I do a linky my rule is that I need to read and comment on a minimum of five. Five's good enough. Great to change that negative self talk, a waste of energy.
ReplyDeleteJust sitting down at my computer with a cuppa on Sunday: one kid watching TV, one on Wii, one reading and one playing drums. Not quiet but very precious snatched 'me' time!!
That's a great idea - make sure I get to 5 other blogs - as you say it certainly is better than just dropping my link in there and scooting out again !!!
